SYSCON Sensors Announces Opening of US Manufacturing Facility

South Bend, Indiana – April 14, 2016– SYSCON Sensors LLC, owned by SYSCON International, Inc., has opened its new manufacturing facility in South Bend, Indiana. SYSCON Sensors is now manufacturing sensor products for foundries and steel mills in the United States, including thermal analysis cups and thermocouple tips and lances. “We have acquired the manufacturing equipment belonging to Minco and are manufacturing the sensor products to further enhance the digital pyrometers and thermal analysis systems we have provided the industry for over 40 years,” said Townsend Thomas, President of SYSCON International. SYSCON International has manufactured molten metal temperature measuring and analysis instruments for the Asian market and private-label customers in the United States since 1975.

“By bringing our manufacturing to the US, we will maintain control of the quality and delivery time for operations that depend on sensor products and instruments. Offering both the sensors and instruments will give US foundries and steel mills a single, reliable domestic source for quality products,” added Mr. Thomas.

When in full production, the facility will employ approximately 50 people.
